
Jeffrey J. Fassett, P.E.
Jeff Fassett brings more than 17 years of power and petrochemical industry experience to Energy Advisory Group, Inc. Mr. Fassett’s engineering experience includes coal fired power generation, coal gasification, petrochemical process management, and combustion turbine power generation (simple- and combined-cycle as well as cogeneration applications). During his career, he has worked for Basin Electric Power Cooperative of Bismark, ND; Mobay Chemical of Baytown, TX; and Destec Operating Company and their successors in capacities of increasing levels of responsibility including: Plant Engineer, Senior Plant Engineer, Project Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor, Start-Up Specialist, Start-Up Manager, and Plant Superintendent.
Mr. Fassett is the founder of IEM Energy Consulting, Inc. and Diamond Energy Operating Company. Through these companies, Mr. Fassett has provided his services to more than 50 domestic and international clients. Mr. Fassett and his companies specialize in all aspects related to power plant management, operation, and maintenance, as well as litigation support services and consulting services. Mr. Fassett has helped negotiate long-term service agreements for more than 10,500 MW of power generating capacity, and supported the development and start-up of more than 16,000 MW.
Mr. Fassett is a repeat office holder in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and is a contributing member of the International Gas Turbine Institute. Mr. Fassett is a frequent panelist at industry conferences and symposiums and has published numerous papers and texts either individually or as collaborative efforts. At the recent invitation of the National Republican Congressional Committee, Mr. Fassett joined the Business Advisory Council where he provides advice and counsel to members of the Republican Congressional Committee. In addition, he accepted and invitation to join the Presidential Business Commission, an elite group of leading business and professional people assembled to assist the NRCC in their efforts to ensure a business friendly legislative environment to promote economic growth. Recently, Mr. Fassett was elected to serve as a member of the Economic Development Commission in his hometown of Alexandria, MN. Mr. Fassett is a graduate of North Dakota State University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in power plant systems.
